Riverfest

Cincinnatians love tradition and by tradition summer cannot be officially ended until Riverfest has taken place and the last firework has exploded.  This is a ceremonial rite of passage that cannot be ignored in our town, so don’t even try.  But if you think that Riverfest is only about the best display of fire and color on earth, you are missing out on some great experiences.  There is great music, food, and family fun on both sides of the river.  This year it gets even better!  Look for the go Vibrant smoothie bike to pop up near the Cincinnatus statue at Yeatman’s Cove on Sunday.  All you have to do is choose your own fruit, get on the bike and pedal.  It’s irresistable – healthy, tasty, free and fun!

Visit us on Facebook to see photos of the bike and other go Vibrant experiences in action.  Also, don’t forget to keep an eye on our website calendar of events for much more upcoming activities.  We will be looking for you!

Going Vibrant at Riverfest

Isaac’s going to try and rain on our parade Sunday, but does anyone think there won’t be a huge crowd gathering on the banks of the Ohio River to have some fun and catch the most incredible fireworks show around?  We’re betting the river will be full of boats and the shores overtaken by people.  Our friends at AGAR will be there to liven your day and show their vibrancy with our smoothie making bike.  Stroll on over to the statue of Cincinnatus at Yeatman’s Cove and burn a couple of calories on the bike then treat yourself and your friends to a smoothie.  Have fun, we’ll see ya Sunday.

Lets Move! Cincinnati

We don’t like to admit it, but the weather will be turning before you know it.  So it might be good to take advantage of the Summer warmth and find some reasons to play outside.  Grab the kids Saturday the 25th and head down to the new Smale Riverfront Park for a great event.  Lets Move! Cincinnati is taking place with a ton of activities and a chance to learn about some good eating habits.  A few of the fun things going on are a mini youth soccer clinic, hip hop/salsa/zumba dancing, a family fitness boot camp, and nature activities hosted by Cincinnati Parks.  Of course, if you work up a thirst, hop on go Vibrant’s smoothie making bike and create a thirst quenching and tasty treat.  They’ll even be a drawing for a bicycle with a helmet, a Wii Fit, and an Ipod.

Form a Team and Join a League

So you’ve been watching the Olympics and marveling at the incredible athletic talent.  Growing up most of us participated in one or more of the same sports they’re playing across the Atlantic.  OK, so maybe they’re executed at a slightly higher level in London, but we definitely had our share of fun playing.  Well, there’s no reason we still can’t enjoy the things we enjoyed as kids.  Cincinnati is home to a ton of leagues covering just about any sport you can think of.  Kickball, dodge ball, volleyball, hoops, football, you name it, you can find it.  Check out Cincinnati Sports Leagues and Cincinnati Recreation Commission to get a sampling of what’s out there.  Can’t find what you’re looking for?  A quick Google search will get you there.  Fall leagues are beginning to form (Summer is flying by way too fast) so get some of your buddies together to form a team or go solo and make some new friends.
