Research has found that, when compared to non-snackers, people who snack throughout the day are less likely to be overweight or obese and are less likely to have abdominal obesity. Of course, you’ll need to be smart about snacking for this to be the case. While it’s true that snacks high in protein, carbs and fat will help stabilize your blood sugar, mood and energy throughout the day, you should exercise portion control (like one ounce of string cheese or 1/4 cup of soy nuts, for example) for optimal benefits.
